City Living on the Rise
The population of Wollongong's City Centre is set to almost double over the next 2 - 3 years with a number of large scale residential developments currently selling or under construction.
With the current developments under assessment, approved or under construction in the core B3 and B4 zones of the city, it is expected the City Centre population will swell by around 97% by 2017.
The increase in demand for inner city living has been fuelled by the rapid urbanisation of the City Centre over the past 24 months. We have seen more than 30 small bars, restaurants, cafe's and galleries open in that period. These changes to the lifestyle offers of the City Centre in conjunction with recent jobs growth, the university, proximity to the beach and the completion of Wollongong Central is providing an attractive urban offer.
