A busy few months at the Innovation Campus.
The University of Wollongong’s Innovation campus is due to celebrate its 10th anniversary later this year. The Innovation Campus has had a busy few months, including the opening of the $18.5 million iAccelerate centre; hosting of an International Innovation Symposium and welcomed 12 new start-ups to iAccelerate.
The University of Wollongong and iAccelerate hosted an International Symposium on Innovation Ecosystems which brought together thought leaders in the development of regional innovation ecosystems from around the globe. Facilitators included:
* Jerry Engel from the University of California Berkley and Silicon Valley veteran.
* Joe Steensma of The Brown School and successful entrepreneur.
* Munya Andrews, indigenous woman and author, university lecturer and barrister.
The Symposium held on 12-14 July 2016 also brought together iAccelerate and international start-up companies, innovative researchers and students from the University of Wollongong to participate in the discussions with the aim of the future growth of the Illawarra Innovation Ecosystem and the development of the region’s economic future.
iAccelerate welcomes 12 new start-ups
iAccelerate announced that 12 new startup companies have recently joined their program. The new residents hit the ground running in the iAccelerate Centre with the start of the iAccelerate Educate program on 8 August and a social networking event on 18th August where they had the chance to meet other residents. Welcome aboard!
